Dalmatia is one of the oldest and the largest region of Croatia. It encompasses the area from the town of Zadar in the North to worldwide known pearl – city of Dubrovnik, located in the far South. Apart from Zadar and Dubrovnik, when we talk about Dalmatia, we cannot skip other cities like Šibenik, Trogir and Split, administrative and cultural center of whole area. What attract visitors from all over the world are not the big cities but the small picturesque settlements and villages close to towns and on the Dalmatian islands and peninsulas. Natural and unspoiled beauty of its landscape and rich historical and cultural heritage, Dalmatia indeed represents the Mediterranean as it once was.
Dalmatian islands are the true pearls in the crown of Dalmatia. The most popular islands are located in the middle of Dalmatian region: Brač, Hvar, Vis, Korčula. It would be great unjustice not to mention northern located islands like Pag, Ugljan, Žirje, Pašman, Dugi otok and Kornati. Talking about Kornati, it should be pointed that in Dalmatian region two islands have the title of NATIONAL PARK: Kornati and Mljet Island, located in the Southern waters of Adriatic near Dubrovnik.
